The Forum is supported by the Market and Coastal Towns Association and Devon County Council to provide a range of services designed to help community partnerships develop and engage directly with the experts. The South West Market and Coastal Towns Network took over as the lead body for Market and Coastal Towns Community led Planning in the South West of England in 2008 following the completion of the MCTi programme and the winding up of the MCTA. The new network will continue supporting Community Planning and the development of sustainable communities also providing training for all Market Town level partnerships and the promotion of good practice in community led planning. The Devon Towns Forum is the member organisation of the network for partnerships in Devon.

The Carnegie UK Trust is one of over twenty foundations worldwide set up by Scots American Andrew Carnegie, working to support a more just, democratic, peaceful and sustainable world. We support independent commissions of inquiry into areas of public concern, together with action and research programmes such as the Rural Action Research Project being undertaken by the Devon Heartlands Community Partnership that is looking at the engagement of rural communities in ongoing Community Planning .
